River — a live-edge resin table.
A dining centrepiece that captures a glacial river frozen in glass.
A private client wanted a six-seat dining table: two live-edge walnut slabs split by a deep, clear-blue resin "river," with enough depth to read like real water.
The challenge was a bubble-free pour at that depth, a dead-flat top, and a finish that could survive daily family use.
Slab to glass in three stages.
Slab & mould prep
Walnut dried, planed and sealed; a melamine mould built dead-level for the pour.
Tinted pour & cure
Deep clear-blue epoxy poured in controlled layers, degassed, and cured over two weeks.
Sand & polish
Flattened, wet-sanded through grits and polished to a durable, food-safe high gloss.
"Every dinner guest asks about it. It genuinely looks like frozen water."
— Private client
The table arrived bubble-free and dead-flat, with the river reading exactly as the client imagined. Two years on, the surface still polishes up like new with a simple wipe.
